CORPI GIA SL has collaborated in the implementation of a desalination plant with reverse osmosis membranes to treat well water that must subsequently supply the municipality of Port de la Selva.

The reduction in rainfall in recent years has aggravated the problem of saline intrusion in many wells in coastal areas. In Alt Empordà the situation is especially sensitive and affects the water from municipal supply wells with concentrations of conductivity and chlorides that may exceed the values set in the drinking water regulation (RD 3/2003).

The solution adopted in Port de la Selva has been the installation of a reverse osmosis plant with a water production capacity of 100 m3/h. The osmosis system and all equipment’s are located within two containers. This configuration has allowed a very quick installation with minimal civil works.

CORPI GIA SL has participated in the supply of the remineralization filters and has coordinated the assembly and commissioning work, also offering the technical assistance service to the operators in charge of the installation.

The project was fully executed in the month of July and has been a success since the supply of quality water has been guaranteed during the months of greatest demand (July and August).
